Dowels, Bellhousing 6 cyl Barra Atomic

Atomic is proud to release another innovative product for the Ford Barra engines – a range of bellhousing dowels in straight and offset.

It has come to our attention that there is often an unacceptable misalignment between the crankshaft and the input shaft of the various gearboxes used behind the Ford engine.

A misalignment here can cause clutch problems in manuals or flexplate/oil pump/torque converter problems in automatic transmission vehicles. 

We have clocked in many OE and aftermarket bellhousings and discovered the misalignment can be up to 1.0mm.

To address this problem we made a range of offset dowels (in .5mm and 1.0mm offsets) which fit into the engine block (without any machining). By rotating the offset dowels on their axes, the bellhousing can be simply repositioned. 

Flats are machined into the offset dowels to facilitate rotation by way of an open ended 14mm spanner.
