Upgrade your LS engine with confidence using the LongBoost Performance LS 58X Billet Crank Sensor Upgrade Kit.
Designed to suit all GM LS engine platforms utilising a factory 58X crankshaft reluctor wheel with the crankshaft position sensor mounted in the side of the engine block, this complete kit provides a robust, plug-and-play solution for both factory and aftermarket engine management systems.
At the heart of the kit is a premium Hall-effect gear tooth sensor mounted in a precision CNC-machined AL6061-T6 billet aluminium bracket, delivering exceptional strength, accuracy and reliability in demanding environments. Every bracket is black anodised for maximum corrosion resistance and durability and includes a Viton® O-ring to provide a positive seal between the mounting bracket and the engine block, helping prevent oil leaks while ensuring correct sensor positioning.
Each kit is professionally assembled with a terminated plug-and-play wiring harness, allowing installation without cutting or modifying the factory wiring loom.
Every sensor features a 500mm flying lead, providing flexibility during installation and allowing the harness to be routed cleanly through the engine bay. The flying lead is protected with high-temperature fibreglass heat sleeving, constructed from a woven fibreglass braid and coated in durable black silicone rubber to provide outstanding protection from radiant heat, abrasion and harsh under-bonnet conditions. The sleeving is rated for a continuous operating temperature of 260°C and can withstand short-term exposure up to 1100°C, helping ensure reliable crankshaft signal performance in even the most demanding motorsport environments.
Why We Built It
This product wasn't developed from a drawing board—it was developed through real-world racing.
After experiencing recurring crank trigger issues on our own high-performance LS-powered vehicles, we found that as horsepower, engine speed and vibration increased, factory-style crank sensors could become unreliable. In some applications, sensor movement or contact with the reluctor wheel resulted in damaged sensors, inconsistent crank signals and unnecessary downtime.
Rather than continue relying on a component designed for standard production vehicles, we engineered a stronger, more reliable solution specifically for performance applications.
The result is a premium crank trigger kit that has been developed, tested and raced on LongBoost Performance Parts' own vehicles before being released to market.

Cable Exit Options
Straight
Standard cable exit for applications with adequate clearance behind the sensor.
90° Cable Exit
Designed for tight engine bay installations where clearance is limited by large exhaust headers, turbo manifolds or engine conversion packaging, providing improved cable routing and reducing strain on the wiring harness.
ECU Compatibility
Designed to work with the factory GM Gen IV ECU on vehicles utilising the factory 58X crankshaft reluctor wheel, making it an ideal replacement for OEM applications.

Installation Notes
LongBoost Performance Parts supplies all crank trigger kits with an initial sensor air gap of 1.0mm.
This setting has proven to provide excellent trigger signal quality across the majority of applications. However, trigger wheel tolerances, aftermarket ECUs and engine combinations can vary.
For this reason, the final sensor air gap should always be checked during installation and adjusted if required to achieve optimal signal quality for your specific engine combination.
